All in a days work

I was lucky enough to work at Meagan's greenhouse in Groton for a couple of days. I love being around all the flowers. What a great place to work.

I know how he feels

This poor little guy got stepped on by his mother and his leg broke. The vet came out and set it. He doesn't realize I can relate to his situation. He needs all the TLC I had and he will be well on his way.

Looking down on us

Today the Endeavour blasted off for the last time. As I take a picture of the moon, I wonder if they are up there taking a picture of us.

Corn anyone

Spence and I went to Mitchell SD last weekend. When you go to Mitchell you have to go to the Corn Palace. Everything in the front of the building is designed with corn, hence the Corn Palace.

This is a close up the mural. It is redecorated each year with naturally colored corn and other grains and native grass. They used 13 different colors or shades of corn this year. This has been going on since 1905. This building was built in 1921. Just a little SD history for you.

All of a sudden

There was a thunder storm coming and the clouds broke just enough for the sun to shine through.

All in a 1/4 mile walk

The sun was out and the wind was not blowing so I took a walk. The next 4 pictures are what I saw walking on the road. According to my handy dandy bird book, this is a male Northern Pintail duck.

I noticed this skunk on my way back. You've never seen an old lady with a limp move so fast! It took me a little while to realize it was dead.

FYI, the two birds in the front are a male and female Mallard duck. The one in the back is a male blue-winged teal duck.
